Free Advice on Backing Up Your Computer

If you go through the headache of investing in an external hard drive and getting back up capability, you might as well go ahead and back up a little more often than I did. It's mildly frustrating to fire up the external hard drive and see that your last back up was done in '06.

Just sayin' . . .

The hardware/software people ought to make it easier for people to backup (and restore!). I've found that various options either seem more complete (but are so hard to get programmed right that you may not be backing up crucial files) or seem easier (but don't allow you to customize sufficiently to make sure you are getting all that you want).

And it's no good to think you are backing up nightly if files are not easily restored.

Everyone should backup nightly to secure medium any files they don't want to lose.
