McCain Checks Out His Veep
Nearly 6 months after he became the presumptive nominee, McCain announced the results of almost half a year of vetting and analysis and careful interviews and hard work. It was Sarah Palin, an untested, unknown, unvetted who will probably be announcing her refusal of the Veep seat within a few hours.
What could have been on his mind?
Maybe we can figure that out . . .

Dan's intent is blatantly obvious.
The song choice and zoomed-in "edited" video (courtesy of the Jed Report) infers that McCain is mesmerized by the Governor's posterior. However, if you look at the top video on the Huffington Post you will see that McCain's eyes are focused on the podium. This becomes evident just before the end of the video (timeline about 1:00). Palin talks about "shattering that glass ceiling" and McCain looks up and further to the left in order to make eye contact. If he was looking behind her, he would have needed to look up and to the right to make eye contact.
I'll let your answer speak for itself, Dan. It speaks volumes.
I guess John McCain must have a thing for David Letterman too.

Travel, if you can't handle the fact that it is funny when McCain gets caught ogling another woman (other than either of his wives, and younger than his younger heiress), then I think maybe you ought to lighten up just a bit.
The video is funny, and it's the LEAST of the McCain's problems right now. I'm sure he wishes he had taken a much longer look at her BEFORE bringing her on board.
Gosh Dan ... (chuckling) ... Obama brings in a Washington insider to second chair his "Campaign for Change" ... and McCain brings in an upper middle class Alaskan Governor, (with two years of actual executive experience reforming the Alaskan insider, good old boy network), to second chair his campaign ... and you focus on what he has already admitted was his greatest shortcoming, (his failed marriage? AND BTW: his ex wife endorses him!) ... by posting a video that purports to show him scoping out his VP's ass? :) As always ...

Karl what reforming of Alaska? She was director of Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc a 527 group organized by Ted Stevens which is at the center of his facing 7 counts of corruption charges.
She has also received $4,500 dollars from that same corrupt, illegal fundraising scheme. She has also found herself in two scandals that question her abuse of power and is in the pocket books of Big Oil and Gas companies.

You're quite correct that I was kind and generous in merely poking a little fun at McCain's "lusting in his heart", rather than focusing on his more severe failures of leadership. That's just the kind of guy I am sometimes . . .
I appreciate you getting into the spirit of things, too. That was light-hearted humor, wasn't it, when you wrote that Palin is a "reformer", after it has come out that she was a beggar of earmarks, was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it, used her office to threaten a state trooper's job???

Posting the video without knowing the truth is one thing, but perpetuating deceit is another. Do you do the same for Funkhouser's benefit? I think that has already been answered.

FYI - Obama has a 30 year history of associating with unsavory characters, beginning with communist Frank Marshall Davis and continuing with Jeremiah Wright in addition to communist terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

I can look at the video, and see that McCain is checking out his runningmate's backside plain as day. If you prefer to believe that he finds the podium more fascinating than her rear, well, you go ahead and believe that.
As for claiming that Dan's a slimeball, and Obama's a slimeball for associating with slimeballs, doesn't that make you a slimeball, too, for associating with this blog?

the reason why it isnt funny is because its absolutely disgusting that out of all of the qualified, professional, competent conservative women that McCain could have chosen, he chose one because, seemingly, he thought she was hot, who is quoted of saying she isnt sure what the vice president does, who will more than likely become the leader of the most powerful country in the western world, who doesnt give a rats ass about womens issues. Its disgusting that while Hilary Clinton was strong on issues we humiliated her with biased reporting, listening to assholes like rudy guilliani and newt gingrich saying women were unable to hold office because it compromises their ability to run a home, now pulling the sexism card. She does not represent women. She does not represent me. And we all know he enjoys cheating on his wives. He married a swimsuit model and them dumped her when she was crippled by a severe car accident, and cheated on her in a very public way for a woman who was 18 years younger and extremely wealthy. What a god damn pig! I feel so sorry for the women in the white house if this dick weed gets elected. They can look forward to a nice pat on the ass while he strips them of their rights. HURRAY!
