Downtown Parking? What Downtown Parking?

One of the best bloggers in the area ventured forth from Liberty today to experience the problem that some of Kansas City's other bloggers consider to be a major problem - the lack of parking downtown.

Those of us who aren't afraid to go downtown can't be surprised by what he found - more parking than you'd find at Bannister Mall on a Sunday morning.

Go read his hilarious report, and promise yourself never to be afraid to come downtown.

I liked it and I feel a bit honored, not only is the Pitch taking even more notice of my work but I've also got bloggers fact checking!!!

TKC is once again kicking ass and causing white people to second guess themselves.

Mission Accomplished.

Hey Tony, shut up.

Dan, I just read XO's post a few minutes ago, laughing and appreciating his blogging genius, then popped over to your place. XO is indeed a great blogger.

Although, the tangent emaw got off on with the Ike Skelton article is also one of the funniest things I've read in a looong time as well.

Mainstream - that's perhaps the most "wrong" comment I've ever not been tempted to delete.

What is the total of parking spaces did XO come up with?

Most of those parking garages are private.

No they aren't. Unless by "private" you mean they charge you to park there during business hours.

Most are free and open at nights and on weekends.

Paintman - you've been owned. There's nothing you can do about it, except be quiet and allow the pain to fade. Attacking he who owned you only makes it worse.

Trust me, I have some experience in this area.

Let me read Dan's comment again and again and again and again and again and again and again.....nothing is coming to me.
Just maybe I'll understand what the hell he is talking about.

Oh no. You misinterpret my position. You see, I think the Sprint Arena is a huge mistake. I don't think they will get anything but some third rate, bush league team in some obsure sport to play there. And, I don't really care for sports anyway. My biggest fear is that the traffic coming to and leaving from events will just further snarl up rush hour traffic and INCONVENIENCE ME PERSONALLY.

I don't give a rats ass about the Arena.

I am simply responding to all of the hand wringing and wailing that you and Tony have been doing about how there is no parking downtown. You seem to believe (like the republicans) that if you repeat something often enough and loud enough that it becomes true.

Every garage I showed in my post was to the north and just slightly to the west of the arena. I didn't even venture south or east of the arena.

The only booked event I could find at the Sprint Center was the ice version of "High School Musical" in December. Actually, I know my granddaughter would love to see it..think I'll book tickets...

Hey paintfellow, I have a question for you.

Will I be able to park along he Grand Avenue of The Americas and admire the flags at my leisure? (sometime soon).

If we're going to make a $60K investment in flags, I think our citizens and tourists deserve to see them at something less than 35 miles per hour.
