Why Jay Nixon Makes Me Nauseated

Nixon asserted that the Democratic Party needs more candidates, nationally and in the state, who reflect mainstream America. For example, he said he was Missouri's only Democratic statewide candidate to embrace the state constitutional amendment defining marriage as only between a man and woman.
As ArchPundit points out, this is kind of like saying "Hey, I'm a Bigot and won so then more Democrats should be".

Nixon is one of those Democrats who keep me from voting the straight ticket.

Dan, what is the alternative? Did you vote for the Republican candidate for AG?

I think Nixon is almost right. We need candidates who can *communicate* with mainstream America. Reflecting is not enough, espeically if you are just reflecting the worst parts.

Actually, I voted for Dave Browning, the Libertarian candidate. I know Dave, and have had an email correspondence with him for several years. We each think the other is crazy, and I would not have wanted him to really win, but I was happy to vote for him.

Well Nixon certainly didn't need your vote and a little dissent is good for the system. Once you have the chance to get to know a candidate (even through e-mail), it really does make the process different.

David Sirota has a really piece in the American Prospect about a better way for Dems to win over red states...
