Noodle Shop Closes
Sad news for local foodies - the Noodle Shop at 59th and Holmes has closed its doors. It was a small shop, with great service, and kind of a blogger favorite. The food was both comforting, as only noodles in broth can be, and also exotic, with strange pickles and even vegetal hedgehogs.
The only way to prevent even more losses is to remember that you cast your votes with every dollar you spend. Are you voting for chain food, or are you voting for local flavor? Good intentions and rare visits don't cut it.

Damn. That is really disappointing. This was a unique little place, in what I thought was a great location.
Sad news. I really enjoyed the Noodle Shop.
That is just a sucky location. A couple of shops have opened/failed there.
Unless you live right in the area, you would never know it was there.
Long live Donato Kaniger. Perhaps next time Dennis can open a restaurant that sells liquor not from a bag behind the counter. A masterful chef a wreck as a businessman.
Great food. We are also sad about the Noodle Shop. Our family was recently disappointed when we walked down there for dinner and found someone else was moving in :(
hmmm...looks like tkc got to it...
Zen Zero in Lawrence, although that is a bit far...
location, location, location.
