The 5th Birthday Party for Gone Mild

I've finally figured out the elaborate, secretive plans by the local politicos to observe Gone Mild's 5th year.

Tonight, the CCP is holding its general membership meeting at Screenland to finally make its real endorsements. At least that's the cover story.

In fact, what I think is going to happen is that, rather than going through lengthy balloting, etc., the membership will simply accept the fine work of the CCP selection committees. Those committees were composed of neutral CCP members who conducted rigorous screenings of the candidates, and they came up with the following list of recommended endorsements:
Treasurer: Clint Zweifel
44th State House: Jason Kander
Sheriff: John Bullard

Add on to those wise, informed choices the races that had been left to the Executive Committee (Nixon for Governor, Sam Page for Lieutenant Governor, Jeff Harris for AG and Jim Kanatzer for Prosecutor), and the voting ought to be completed in 3 minutes. Just in time for someone to bring in a huge birthday cake for Gone Mild, and time for someone to sing a breathy version of "Happy Birthday", just like Marilyn Monroe did for JFK. I'm not sure who will do the singing, but I hope it's not Bough . . .

You omitted the fact that Amy Coffman was endorsed by the exec committee.

What other selection committees chose Kander?

My understanding is that the Selection Committee recommended endorsing Jason Kander, but the Executive Committee chose not to accept that recommendation. Apparently, after hearing from Amy's supporters, if Dan can be believed, though I doubt anyone would have been swayed by Beth . . .

CCP Watcher: What do you have against Beth?

Nothing - Beth is fine in my book, but I don't think her opinion can outweigh my own, just as I don't think Dan's can, either.

Can't wait to hear Dan spin "I bet you would like nine inches in you".

Did I say that?

Nope, but allegedly Gloria did.

Yawn.

The kind of people who will focus on junk like that instead of public transportation are not the kind of people I find very interesting.

Dan,
That person actually RAN home from the CCP endorsement meeting to talk shit to you on your blog.

I'd take that as a compliment if I were you.

Thank you, anonymous 10:20. I hadn't even read the post when I wrote my "yawn" comment, but I realized that the same answer applied to both posts. I trust my readers are smart enough to realize that I told no lie.

No Lie: like Kander telling the UAW about Amy's car and Bullard telling the public he had Cleaver's endorsement.

Dan, you specialize in Lies.

You told no lie? Okay.

You omitted information, and misrepresented the CCP and the selections of the CCP executive committee.

If I was a Republican blogger characterizing the endorsements of the League of Women Voters nationwide, and I intentionally left out Barack Obama for president, would anybody consider that dishonest?

Of course.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, the person you left out got the endorsement you were trying to lie to prevent.

Very, very poetic.

Liars always lose.

And Danny my boy, you just lost.

oh, and did I mention that the Mayor, that you are renowned defender of, condones his chief of staff saying to women employees "I bet you'd like a good nine inches in you". And "Do you want to blow on my ass?".

Be proud, Danny.

Klumb fan -

You can't win an argument with someone who only wants to make hateful, false accusations, and trying to do so only drags you down to their level. Thank you for pointing out my honesty - I pride myself on it - but I've learned to ignore the haters. I've had over a million unique visits - the mentally ill are statistically bound to be a portion of them.

When you gonna post on the Mammygate filing Danny? It is my understanding you used to be an attorney but could not cut the work or ethical standards. You input might be quite interesting, if you get your dick out of ... well you get the picture.

From what I read "Billie Clinton" is correct. Dan didn't lie, but "omitted" certain things.

Is it wrong/deceitful to omit facts you don't like?

Mixed in with the borderline insane remarks, I think Dan got called out on this one.

As far as talking about public transportation goes. If you want public transit, just walk two blocks from your house and get on the bus. We already have good public transportation, now if we could just got those metal plates removed.

I was writing about the CCP endorsement process, and the Executive Committee recommendations had already been published on the CCPs blog, the Star's blog, and mentioned on mine.

The point of the post was what I wanted to happen, not what actually did (or would) happen. In reality, nobody gave Gone Mild a birthday cake or sang "Happy Birthday".

As for the debate about what facts need to be included in a blog post, I think I'm on fairly solid ground in not listing every endorsement each time I mention Kander or Coffman.

I've never posted from the basement, and I always tell the truth. It is a point of pride for me that my record of truth-telling is untarnished - not a lot of bloggers can claim that.

If you believe that 2+2=5, then stating such must be the truth -to you.

Endorsements don't seem to matter much in the end. Look at Mark Powell from 2004.

And watch Mike Carter for Lieutenant Governor of Missouri in 2008
