Jeff Harris Unites Kansas City Lawyers
Lawyers tend to be a fractious bunch. Plaintiff's lawyers tend to dislike defense attorneys, and the defense attorneys tend to return the favor. Big firm lawyers tend to think that small firm lawyers don't have what it takes to make the "big time", and small firm lawyers tend to think that big firm lawyers are book-smart eggheads who can't make it in the real world. Nobody likes the divorce lawyers, except their clients.
With all those disunifying tendencies, it is great to see this invitation.doc, for an event back on 4/4. The list of sponsors includes a who's who of plaintiff's lawyers, defense lawyers, big firm lawyers, solos, and even academics. It's a great list, and speaks well of Jeff Harris' ability to unify the Democratic Party behind him after he wins the primary for Attorney General.

That's funny. I'd say you've barely scratched the surface of the ways in which lawyers disrespect each other by sub-class. It's an unfortunate reality of the practice of law that many lawyers feel the need to justify their own choices by disparaging the choices of others. But when it comes down to it, the overwhelming majority want competent and fair people in charge.
And I must say - Bob Downs rocks.
Hey Dan-
Your post reminded me of a joke.
What's yellow & black- wearing suits & ties and is as funny as Hell?
Heh- just kidding chief...
Cheers-

The important part of this invitation is that 40 some lawyers have made an independant choice to support a candidate for AG. These folks will tell others, who will tell others. Whom will you believe - a slick TV ad or your lawyer friend who says "Jeff Harris is the best choice for AG"? This is grass roots at its finest.
I don't rely on word of mouth or on television ads. I just vote the way Gone Mild says to.
Why would you do anything else?
"Nobody likes the divorce lawyers, except their clients."
