Influence Ratings . . .

Those blogger influence ratings come out on Sundays, don't they? I wonder who is rated as the number 1 most influential political blogger in the state of Missouri?

My influence must be why Funkhouser is so popular, and Amy Coffman has done such a great job of updating her website, as her campaign said we could expect, after her campaign kick-off . . .

Congratulations on your triumph over Tony's TKC.

I don't see The Kansas City Post.

I will be interested in seeing whether Jason Kander was honest with you and RETURNED the money that he required to return under the Missouri State Supreme Court ruling. Right now he is hanging very close Matt Blunt, which has to be very uncomfortable for a Democrat. I will check out Amy's Web site.

For Jason's sake, I hope Jason and Diana show more common sense than Mark and Gloria.

The Kander's decision regarding the unconstitutional contributions will be important to me in my decision as to how I become involved in my own district's state rep race -- no, I AM NOT, considering a run for the seat. I will leave that to others with more energy.

Keep your influence ratings to yourself! :-)

All the best Dan, I am not being "smart" by saying that.

PP - I think you'll be pleased with Jason's handling of the donations, and he has been no closer to Matt Blunt than I have been. But what about Koster?

A prediction that you can bet the farm on: Koster 43%; Donnelly 37%; Harris 20%.

Ladies and Gents, this one was never really close. It was decided last April.

How wrong you are. Care to put a bet on that prediction?

Koster has no real chance in the primary - he is an ambitious republican who will be held to his rather repulsive record.

Come on, anonymous - how about you email me and we can put a wager on this? $20 from you to the charity of my choice when Harris wins, vice versa if Koster wins.

Dan -

My morals and respect for the law preclude me from betting. I regularly give to charity, however.

Here's the deal: Koster wins t/o much of Greater KC and outstae. Donnelly carries St. Louis and obtains the support of influential women's groups t/o the state. Harris is left with Columbia and a few supporters from the more liberal pockets.

Dan - Like it or not, Koster is the future of the Democratic party in Missouri. And he is the only one who can beat Hanaway.

Oh, anonymous, I knew you'd come up with some dodge to avoid backing up your talk.

Of course, the votes will be the final arbiter of our disagreement. Here's how I see it stacking up - Donnelly gets virtually zero anyplace but in St. Louis county, and she doesn't even do very well there. She's simply not an impressive candidate - and many St. Louis pols are endorsing others.

Koster grates on people. He will not be able to convince people that he's on any side but his own, and even the union vote is sliding away from him. He gets a little trial lawyer money, a little union money, and a whole lot of questions about flip-flopping and past votes. While I like to think the race will be a positive one, as soon as Donnelly sees that all her money is going to waste because nobody outside her neighborhood likes her, she's going negative, and Koster is SUCH an EASY TARGET! I mean, really, that would be shooting fish in the proverbial barrel.

Jeff Harris is the only one with great support in St. Louis, great support in Kansas City, and great support outstate. He's a unifier in the best sense of the word. Unions love him, trial lawyers love him, rank and file dems love him. He's strong, loyal and smart. Neither of the other candidates is all three.

But, there's little to be gained by cocky pronouncements of how the vote is going to go. Each candidate is capable of winning if everything goes well, and each candidate is capable of blowing it with a poor campaign. Nobody has this race wrapped up, so, if Harris is your favorite, please get to work on supporting him. If you prefer Donnelly or Koster, please stay around here and spend all your time telling me why they have it wrapped up.

Bad bet Dan

wait til you see the three candidates side by side in a debate

Koster wins in a walk

I'd like to see Harris do well but doubts he even finishes second

Good bet, Dan.

The guy he offered it to backed away, so I figure Dan showed that the Koster backers are all hot air Republicans.

Like Dan says, it's all posturing at this stage. The Koster kamp's refusal to back it up proves Dan right.

What happened in April?

I mean, I agree with you that Koster's behavior in April will have a decisive effect on the outcome of the primary. But since you're predicting that he wins, I assume you are thinking of different things than I am.

Thought you could use a Donnelly supporter on here. Margaret is the smartest and the toughest of the 3 candidates. Everyone who works with her in the capitol have bee very impressed with her work in the legislature. She has been the dem leader on the budget and has been fighting for families her entire career.

Most folks find Jeff to be a nice guy but weak in a political battle. Hell, his wife and parents had to sit in the gallery to get him to vote against banning gay marriage. not to courageous.

Koster is smart and charming, but his personal background, both familial and criminal, will come back to haunt him.

I will agree with the other anonymous' prediction of 43, 37, 20, but it will be Donnelly, Harris, Koster.

Especially after Margaret outraises both of them this quarter.

Dan, "donations" is an interesting term for returning the funds to Uncle John Kander and others and others.

All the campaign has to do is subtract the maximum allowable contribution and write a check to the original donor for the balance. It is not a donation, unless someone is playing games with the money.

Hmmm, sounds like something might be up.

PP - You are a ridiculous person. I wrote about the donations that Jason received, and the fact that they have been returned. You are trying to spin something out of nothing.

Ridiculous person? Dan, I can truly attest to the fact that you are acting as the most ridiculous person, in Kansas City at least. You're defending Gloria, and please name for me all of the other people defending Gloria.

Name them!!!

You're not doing Mr. Harris a service by supporting him.

Ruth, please take a deep breath. Now, go back and find the last time I even mentioned Gloria. To quote your hysterics, name them!!!!! And then come back and apologize for being silly.

Dan you're just like my first husband. It was never his problem, always mine. But I remember your posts, Dan, on Funks Front Drive where you were and have been encouraging Goria in her efforts. And consoling her.

I understand you may like the "stronger" type of female but I prefer an equal stake, and I never was involved in my husband's work dealings. He asked my advice from time to time, but can you imagine me walking into Yellow Freight and telling those guys what to do? Why would I want to in the first place unless they were mistreating people? They never did that, so I never bothered to get involved. They were just doing business.

It never even occured to me to do that, because I respected my husband's judgement. I've had a career, too, and we've raised a few kids, and we've always asked each other's advice.

It sounds to me that you kind of fall in love with a person without really knowing them. That would explain your romance with Mayor Funkhouser and a whole bunch of other people. Well, at least you're devoted and treat your better half with respect. Just remember Gloria is not your better half.

Ruth, you have me chuckling. I know that when I get compared to a first husband, I'm on someone's last nerve.

Now, please answer my question. When was the last time I wrote about Gloria? Remember that "name them!!!!!" challenge? You never came up with an answer.

I'm pretty sure that the phrase "Funk's front drive" has never appeared on this page, outside of your disordered imagination.

As for your attempt to psychoanalyze my love life, and to compare working for Yellow Freight with being Mayor, you most certainly do not remind me of my first wife, who remains my wife after 25 years. I do like strong women, and I prefer the ones that do not to post factually and logically flawed comments.
