WOW - what news to find this morning . . . Vonnegut has been huge in my life - especially here in KC (since my early 20's). His books have always shown me to never take life too seriously, but to always put much thought into those you meet throughout it. Through his fiction, we lived so much of his real life and met so many of the people he loved. I'm glad he joins Alice, his father, the many brilliant people he mourned, and especially Kilgore "being alive is a crock of shit" Trout. They will lead him through this new chapter with kindness, brevity, honesty and humor - much in the way he has led me in my last 10 years.
Thank you, Dan, for this news - I'll be reminded today to choose not stress and hurriedness, but to laugh a little and give someone a load of shit. For Kurt. For you. For me.

'All persons, living and dead, are purely coincidental.' Time Quake

Happy coincidence . . .

I grew up with him too. We're far richer because of him.

This quote is a better one with which to leave humanity. Bravo to you.
