Chemlawn?!
There is a Chemlawn truck down the street spewing chemicals onto a neighbor's yard. Why would anyone ever spend money to have a Chemlawn? Do they buy by Dioxinfood and Poisonmeds?

I agree. Let the thistles and dandelions grow (the latter making good wine). Or, perhaps, you could help your neighbor dig them out by hand...maybe your neighbor is a little old 80 year old lady.
By the way, if KC, Mo is like my city, there are noxious weed control laws.
My surprise is not at the fact that people use stuff on their lawns (though I don't care enough to do so), but that a company with a name like chemlawn can get by.
I used to work for one of those company's. As I was headed out for a service call to apply a granular grubworm application, I grabed a large, double-filtered mask with goggles specifically designed to prevent me from inhaling said granules.
One of the sales managers caught me and said, "What the hell are you doing? You look like you're about to engage in biological warfare or something. You want to scare the customers? Here, use this." as he handed me one of those little paper masks like you dentists uses.
