Bush and Tom Ridge Fear Cat Stevens?!

Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam, has been denied entry to the United States. Good God, if Barry Manilow takes up Islam, Bush would probably go hide!

(Actually, this does raise significant and serious issues of the extent to which the restrictions on travel are being used to silence voices and opinions, but I'll save those thoughts for a later post.)

Next thing you know the TSA people will give the full body wand treatment to a 4 year old blonde girl. Wait, they already did. My daughter, who cried through the whole process, obviously does pose a threat. What a country.

I'll be anxiously awaiting your followup post. It's a HUGE deal. If you look at who has been prevented from traveling, you'll find a hugely disproportionate number of war protestors, none of who posed any threat at all. Some were not even currently protesting such as the nun who found her name on the list ho had not even participated in a war protest since the vietnam war.

I think anyone who supports and advocates the assasination of an author, (Salman Rushdie sp?), should be considered dangerous.

Barry Manilow? Come on Dan. You guys want to make it a religous war and you know Islam isn't the reason he was denied entry. Your research is akin to CBS.

Gee Dan, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. You don't have to throw away those Manilow records/8-tracks. I'm sure Kenny G will be sent out of the country before Manilow.
